Plot summary

1. Prologue / Flashbacks

   • We get background on Elektra’s training under Stick, her conflicted nature, her time with the Hand, and how she was expelled from Stick’s clan because of hatred and internal suffering. 

2. Main conflict

   • The Hand is performing a ritual to resurrect Elektra’s body. Daredevil, Black Widow, and Stone scramble to stop them.

   • They fail to keep her corpse out of the Hand’s hands, despite efforts. 

3. Alliances & Dealings

   • In order to learn the Hand’s location and prevent the ritual, Daredevil makes a temporary, uneasy arrangement with Kingpin. 

   • There’s also involvement of Stone and the mystical/martial arts world (Stick’s faction) in attempting to purify Elektra’s “tainted soul.” 

4. Climax & Resolution

   • A confrontation at an abandoned church where the Hand’s ritual is underway. Daredevil tries a mystical attempt (inspired by Stone) to purify Elektra’s being, believing he failed

   • Ultimately, Stone finishes the ritual started by the Hand, but it’s implied Elektra is resurrected in a purer form (freed from Hand corruption). 

5. Aftermath

   • When Matt (Daredevil) and Black Widow return to the scene, Elektra’s body is gone, with only Stone’s gi remaining. Later we see Elektra alive, reemerged, wandering alone (in the snow, scaling a cliff) — her rebirth symbolic, solitary.
