Daredevil #42 (1968) Marvel Comics

In this issue, Daredevil faces a new adversary: The Jester, a failed actor turned criminal mastermind. Humiliated by his past and seeking revenge, the Jester uses theatrical gimmicks and gadgets to commit crimes. He is hired by corrupt mayoral candidate Richard Raleigh to eliminate his political opponent, Foggy Nelson, by attacking him during a public outing. Matt Murdock (Daredevil) allows himself to be captured, leading the Jester to believe he has captured Daredevil. After escaping, Matt transforms into Daredevil and confronts the Jester, who uses various gadgets to evade capture. The issue ends with the Jester escaping, setting the stage for future confrontations.
