Jet Power #2 (1958) Super Comics - Golden Age Sci-Fi

There are multiple short stories in this issue, each with a sci‑fi or speculative danger. Some of the main ones are:

• Time‑Machine / Kroog story

  • An inventor builds a time machine but is too timid to test it on himself, so he sends a couple forward in time. However, due to some malfunction, they land three million years in the future instead of the intended more modest leap. 

  • They encounter an alien race called the Kroog, who copy the time‑machine design and intend to use it to conquer all time and space.

  • The couple somehow return to the present and warn Jet Powers, who then has to deal with the threat that the Kroog pose.

• Robot Army / Living Metal

  • After the Hiroshima atomic bomb, a robot prototype gains sentience (“living metal”) and goes into hiding.

  • The villain Mr. Sinn captures this living‑metal robot and uses it to build a robot army to attack Jet.

  • Jet defeats this threat; x‑rays are used in one twist to revert the robots back to lifeless metal.

• Beginning of a serial / Radioactive Dust Cloud

  • The issue starts a two‑part serial where a radioactive dust cloud from space envelops the Earth, leading to mass panic and devastation.

  • This storyline continues in later issues (including #4)
